Eclipse Season 2021: Full Lunar & Solar Eclipse

Happy Eclipse Season!

In just three days we will have our Full Lunar Eclipse on November 19 in the sign of Taurus, followed by our Full Solar Eclipse on December 4 in the sign of Sagittarius.

Sometimes it can be difficult to understand what celestial events mean in the context of human life. Yes, it is helpful to read the work of astrologers and do your research. However, I believe that the most important piece of information to remember when studying astrology is “As above, so below.” When you need to understand the themes brought up by any celestial event, ask yourself what it is that is occurring in the physical world to then understand the archetypal meaning.

With that being said, eclipses occur on New and Full Moons. The reason why they are different from every other lunation cycle is that an eclipse occurs when the Sun or Moon temporarily orbits outside of its typical path, making it so that from here on Earth we witness the phenomena of day turning to night and night to day. If you are curious about seeing how this works, there will be a diagram posted on my website.

Eclipses, therefore, represent radical change – a change that comes on so quickly it can be somewhat unnerving. With every New Moon, we begin a new cycle surrounding the house topics of wherever that New Moon occurs in your natal chart. The Full Moon will represent a culmination of a cycle surrounding the topics of whichever house that occurs in. The Solar and Lunar eclipses are similar in that they show us areas of our life that are going to either begin anew or where we will reap the benefits/consequences of what we’ve sown. However, they are different in that they carry with them staying power, and they speak to themes that could be of the utmost importance to us for the coming six months. This differs from the normal monthly lunation cycle, which only shows themes that will be present over the 28 days of the lunation cycle itself.

A Full Lunar eclipse can launch us into a brand new trajectory, either through radical gain or radical loss. Whatever it may be, something can either quickly come into or leave our lives, forcing us to reconsider our approach to the house topics of where the eclipse has occurred in our natal charts. Comparatively, a Full Solar Eclipse will show us something that we will either quickly gain or lose as a consequence of our actions in the house area where the eclipse is occurring in our natal charts.

Eclipse season is nothing to fear. It is, however, a time of deep growth and change that is meant to occur to satisfy the evolution of our souls. Sometimes the best things in life only come to us after the storm has cleared.
