In our physical world, Venus is the second planet from the sun and the hottest of all. Her atmosphere is made entirely of noxious gasses that consume all that falls into her. She serves a dual purpose, as she is known as both the morning star and the first star seen at night following the Sun’s set. She is so bright that sometimes she can even be seen during the day.
Venus was named after the Roman Goddess of love, beauty, and pleasure. She was known to embody the utmost grace and femininity that a woman ever could. However, she was also known for her jealous, fickle, and even manipulative nature. Venus was a master of seduction and used this sacred tool to her benefit, as well as to the demise of men. Just as the intoxicating atmosphere of the planet Venus can crush and consume anything that nears it, Venus was assigned as the ruler of female sexuality and seduction because it, in fact, functions in the very same way.
Divine feminine energy, or Yin, represents the blackness of the abyss. It is the hollow space in our Universe from which life is born. And so, women hold within themselves more than any other being this hollow, consuming space that swallows up anything that it chooses. This is the power behind feminine seduction. It is the ability to open up within yourself this hollow chasm that can totally engulf anything that encounters it. The intense and dark nature of female seduction and sexuality is what has led it to be suppressed in women throughout all of history, for the fear of the loss of power and loss of self that comes from being devoured by Yin energy has reigned supreme. If you need further confirmation of this fear, just look towards the name Lucifer.
Lucifer was the name of God’s favorite angel, before he fell to his demise and was consumed by the darkness, only to become known as Satan. This tale speaks to Venus herself, as she first rises in the morning to the East, only to be consumed into the blackness of night as she sets in the West. Before the creation of the Bible, the morning star (i.e. Venus as she rises) was known for centuries by the name of Lucifer. And so, the use of Lucifer in the Bible is actually a reference to Venus and her all-consuming nature, that within her holds the power to steer men astray. It is the power of feminine sexual energy, above all things, that is villainized and feared in this world. Haven’t you ever heard them say, “Women are the Devil?”
