Hi everyone, and welcome to your rundown of the major astrology of the week ahead!
Beginning on October 22, Mercury will finally make its way into Scorpio, urging us to really lean into this spooky season! Mercury in Scorpio is representative of the penetrative, analytic, and occult mind. It aims to understand the psychological motivations behind people and their actions. It leans into pondering on more taboo subjects and does not fear the dark side of life. As Mercury enters this sign, conversations will take a turn into the depths of human existence, as small talk simply won’t cut it over the next few weeks. This is a beautiful time to really reach a deeper level of intimacy within your relationships if you are willing to be vulnerable with your deep, dark truths. Otherwise, you may run the risk of growing secretive and pulling away from those around you. If you encounter yourself approaching your edge of comfort within relationships over the next few weeks, allow this energy to guide you past any fear of greater vulnerability as it will inevitably lead to a deeper understanding of yourself and others.
On October 24, the Sun will officially enter Scorpio turning the Halloween vibes on full blast. Scorpio season is all about exploring the core of who you are. When all of the niceties and distractions of life melt away, what is left? Scorpio is often associated with death, but I feel as though this is an overgeneralization. Scorpio undoubtedly represents a part of the dying process, sure, as this is the archetype responsible for deconstructing what no longer serves a purpose, creating space for something entirely new. This is why words like alchemy, evolution, and transformation are frequently associated with this sign. During this Scorpio season, I encourage you all to be willing to see yourself for all that you are, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Don’t be afraid of what is left when you begin to peel back the layers. If you are being called to make changes within yourself and your life at this time, don’t resist! Lean into the energy of Scorpio and find beauty in the pain of the transformation process. On the other side is more peace and self-fulfillment than you have ever known!
The middle of the week is quite calm, but Saturday, October 28, sure does pack a punch! Firstly, Mars and Mercury will conjoin together in Scorpio and oppose Jupiter in Taurus. The combination of these three planets through opposition presents both positive and negative influences depending on how you are able to work with this energy. On the positive side of things, there is the potential here for massive intellectual breakthroughs. This can come in many forms, but all manifestations of this will likely present with the theme of the sudden release of information or truths that radically expand your awareness or understanding of a situation. There is the opportunity here to have very impactful discussions, as Mercury and Mars bring clear direction to the mind and presentation of information and Jupiter will serve to expand and inspire. This would be a great day to attend a class, a workshop, or a presentation, as you very well may leave feeling mentally renewed.
On the flip side, this planetary combination does run the risk of producing self-righteous communication. Be very conscientious at this time of getting stuck standing on your soap box. If you find yourself dead set on convincing others of your way of thinking or of seeing the world, you would be wise to take a step back and refrain from burning any bridges. Though this energy can lend itself to a healthy debate, there is the potential for feelings to get hurt as it can also make things feel more personal than they actually are.
Most importantly, however, Saturday, October 28, brings us to the end of this eclipse cycle with the Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus! It appears to me that this eclipse has the potential to be a mixed bag. On the one hand, it is occurring in the sign where the Moon is said to be the most supported, or exalted, Taurus. This is typically viewed as a mitigating factor as far as the potential for the eclipse to bring any adverse or negative consequences. Despite this, however, Taurus is a Venus-ruled sign, meaning that the planetary ruler of this eclipse is Venus, who is currently located in the sign she is least supported by, Virgo. So, even though this is an "Exalted" Eclipse, because Venus is currently in Virgo, any positive side effects of the Moon being in Taurus run the risk of being null.
This eclipse is, however, conjunct Jupiter, the most abundant and benevolent planet of all. And with Jupiter in Taurus forming a beneficial aspect to the ruler of this eclipse, Venus in Virgo, there is again this feeling of "all's well that ends well" with this eclipse. We have been having eclipses along the Taurus-Scorpio axis now since 2021, and this is the final eclipse to occur in this part of the Zodiac until 2031. There is an element of wrapping things up with this eclipse, and with the heavy involvement of the benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, I get this feeling that all the trials and tribulations of the last two years have the potential to end on a positive note. Wherever Taurus is in your chart will represent an area of life where you are left feeling wiser and more self-assured. There is a sense with this eclipse that you will be reminded at this time of just how much you have learned about this area of life over the course of the last two years, finding a sense of gratitude and appreciation for all of the ups and downs. Pay attention to any events that occur around the time of this eclipse that feel like they are harking back on past lessons, as these are meant to be what some might call a "final exam," of sorts.
Whatever you do, stay positive, remain open, be flexible, and good luck!
